  • Becomes a member of the Savage Club, an association which lasted throughout his life. The Savage Club is a semi-literary club located in Melbourne's law district. Menzies' circle of friends includes young businessmen, shopkeepers and clerks and he was soon to become involved in the local politics that were of interest to some of these men.
